The Tomahawk – Tri-Vent-Hull is a futuristic mix of “Back to the Future” which defines “Turbulent Flow”, as this specially designed Hull can have a profound effect on reducing drag caused by friction, and that is the optimum result we are looking for!
This cunning “natural” bottom curve, comes with a moderate single concave bottom, and this configuration consists of an inverted Tri-Vent-Hull that runs 50% throughout the bottom deck, and blends out into a Vee that’s ends with a micro-bat-tail. This tail option gives us instant release when pressure is applied, and these multiple release points add to reducing drag, allowing for easier direction change in and out of turns. The overall straighter outline in the tail, enhancers speed, and the “break” in the wing, allows for better release in smooth or choppy surf conditions.
The configuration of the Try-Vent-Hull acts in displacing the wetted area under your front foot, reducing hull-drag, and redirects smoother water flow onto your back foot, giving you added control and less drag, so that surfboards can move faster and more efficiently through the water.
This will also reduce both travel time as well as getting you faster to hitting the lip! Basically, the micro-bat-tail has 4 extra pivot-points, offering instant release through turns as they easily display water. The combination of the wing break in the rail-line, adds a drastic response of hold and looseness, giving us consistent acceleration when needed; when changing from rail to rail.
The Tomahawk is intended to service all walks of surfers, as this craft is designed to perform in punchy beach breaks, or any down the line point breaks, as tested in a wave range of size between 2ft to 8ft at JBay pumping or New Pier barreling. Speed is the essence to performance, as it sets us up for better positioning on the wave, allowing us to do open powerful hacks, or tight arcs. It’s all about optimizing the area given in the tail, thus making maneuvers it’s strength when using or pivoting, either on your inside or outside rail. We recommend both Thruster and Quad 5 fin setup as this model can be ridden 2″ to 4″ shorter than your regular board, depending on your skill level!
I must confess, this all-rounder design will enlighten any intermediate or our hardcore advanced surfer that wants to experience the “over-drive” that this model carries – after all – it’s about showing off and looking sexy on a wave!
